Choosing the Right Plan: A Guide to MK TextBiz's 6 Pricing Tiers

Picking a plan often comes down to one number: how many SMS messages do you realistically send each month? It sounds simple, but most businesses underestimate or overestimate this badly the first time they try to guess, usually because they're thinking about an average month rather than their busiest one. MK TextBiz offers six tiers, scaling from small startups to high-volume enterprise senders, and matching your actual usage pattern to the right tier makes a real difference in cost.

The six tiers at a glance

  • Start Up, $50/mo: 500 SMS, up to 250 contacts. Built for new businesses just getting their messaging off the ground.
  • Growth, $90/mo: 1,000 SMS, up to 500 contacts. Suits businesses scaling past their first few campaigns.
  • Business, $190/mo: 2,500 SMS, up to 1,250 contacts. Marked as best value for companies running regular outreach.
  • Pro, $290/mo: 5,000 SMS, up to 2,500 contacts. The most popular tier, for businesses running large outreach campaigns consistently.
  • Premium, $490/mo: 10,000 SMS, up to 5,000 contacts. Covers high-volume senders and includes free onboarding.
  • Custom: Tailored SMS volume, custom integrations, and a personalized onboarding call for anything beyond Premium.

What actually changes between tiers

Every plan includes SMS rollover and the same core feature set, inbox, templates, campaigns, dashboard, so the real decision is about volume and contact list size, not which features you'll have access to. A business on the Start Up tier has the exact same tools available as a business on Premium. The only difference is how much room they have to use them each month.

This is a deliberate choice. Splitting features across tiers tends to push businesses into plans that don't actually fit their volume, just to unlock a tool they need. Keeping the feature set consistent means the only variable left to think about is the number that actually matters: how many messages and contacts you need room for.

How to estimate which tier fits

A reasonable way to estimate your tier is to look at your busiest realistic month, not your average one, and add a buffer on top. Thanks to rollover, overestimating slightly costs you very little, since unused credits carry forward rather than disappearing. Underestimating is the more expensive mistake, since running out mid-campaign means either pausing a send or upgrading under time pressure.

  1. List your busiest month: Think back to your highest-volume month in the last year, including any seasonal spikes or one-off promotions.
  2. Add a buffer: Round up to the next tier if your busiest month sits close to a plan's limit, rather than right at it.
  3. Let rollover absorb the rest: Quieter months will bank unused credits automatically, so there's little downside to sizing slightly generous.

When Custom makes more sense

Businesses sending well beyond 10,000 messages a month, or needing specific integrations with other systems they already rely on, usually outgrow the standard tiers entirely. The Custom tier exists for exactly that situation, with a personalized onboarding call to map out volume and integration needs before anything gets set up.
